Ingredients

  • Water
  • Hibiscus Flowers or Dried Hibiscus Petals
  • Loose Hibiscus Tea (As an option)
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Fresh Lemon Juice (optional)
  • Honey (optional)
  • Sugar or Stevia Extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Put in the hibiscus (either flower or dried) and let it steep in the boiling water.
  3. Add in the cinnamon sticks to the tea, according to preference.
  4. Let it steep for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. If you intend the hibiscus tea to become stronger, add more hibiscus petals.
  6. Avoid steeping for more than 20 minutes. It could make the tea turn bitter.
  7. Strain and discard the petals.
  8. Add lemon, sugar or honey for taste
  9. Enjoy it hot or cool it in the refrigerator and enjoy it after it is cold.
  10. Hibiscus tea can be stored in the fridge for about 3 days.
